We are excited to announce the first three of our eight presenters and their case study topics for the 8th Annual Social Media Showcase. (Read the round two announcements.)
The purpose of this event is to showcase local social media case studies of Dallas based companies. Specifically, we want to see how our peers are implementing social media campaigns and the results they are achieving.
So, without any further delay, here are the first round of presenters for the 8th Annual Social Media Showcase:
Case Study Topic: Influencer marketing to promote Plano, Dallas, & Frisco
Stephanie Weeks is Social Media Specialist for Visit Plano. She has previously worked in social media for Dallas Cowboys Football Club and Eagle Golf. She was also a video producer for 2Surge Marketing. As the creator of Dallas Pinterest Party, she was featured on the Huffington Post, WFAA-TV and CBS-DFW as a social media innovator. Stephanie is a proud University of North Texas alumnus, where she earned a degree in marketing management.
Case Study Topic: Using Social Media to attract talent

In the last 10 years, Ali has developed digital marketing solutions for several mega brands, SMBs, startups, and agencies. At #iSocialYou, he helps brands with two important aspects of digital marketing (1) How to build the RIGHT type of audience (2) How to generate leads & revenue using Facebook Ads and creative digital strategies.

Case Study Topic: Using social media advertising to drive in-store sales
Cameron Gawley is CEO and co-founder of BuzzShift, a digital strategy agency for mid-sized and large brands. He’s most comfortable when challenging the status quo. A serial entrepreneur and growth hacker, he started his first IT service company at age 18. He went on to build an online data backup company that preceded Dropbox and Box.net, before co-founding BuzzShift in 2010.
Cameron’s true north is growth, and he works to help high-potential tech companies and mid-market brands with their go-to-market and growth strategies. Besides leading BuzzShift, his side hustles include serving as an advisor and investor in numerous tech startups, teaching Digital Marketing Analytics at Southern Methodist University for SMU’s Continuing and Professional Education (CAPE) program, and designing his own line of messenger bags.
Cameron is also a founding member of Social Media Club of Dallas (now Social Media Dallas) and Buzzshift was built out of a relationship formed through Social Media Dallas. Eddy Badrina (co-founder) and Cameron met each other at one of the first SMD events almost 9 years ago.
